The great Arctic char biologist Lionel Johnson passes away
Lionel Johnson was a true friend to the Irish Char Conservation Group. We had the pleasure of first meeting him in September 2002, when he came over to Ireland and stayed with us during the 10th Workshop of ISACF in Killarney and Galway. Always willing to part with the immense knowledge on Arctic char issues which he had accumulated over his long and productive life, and the theories which he developed based on his work on Arctic char in the Canadian Arctic. He was also a good laugh and had a big heart.
Lionel you’ll be fondly missed by all of us in the Irish Char Conservation Group and friends and we wish you a safe passage along your next journey.
Take care and God bless
From all of us in the Irish Char Conservation Group
